By signing up for this event, you agree to, and acknowledge, the following:

  3. You will take and pass the Ontario COVID-19 self-assessment on-line questionnaire. within 48 hours of the start of the event.



EVENT DETAILS

So, this is my first time leading this particular route with the TOC along this section of the Oak Ridges Moraine Trail. However, I've led it once with my friends in 2021.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water. We will stop for lunch about halfway through the hike.

EVENT STATS

  • Distance: 14 KM
  • Terrain: Either single track dirt trails or wide gravel paths, with a little bit of road walking.
  • Trail vs Road: 13 vs 1
  • Elevation Range: 50 Meters
  • Challenging Climbs of Note: 3 climbs of at least 25 meters
  • Largest Ascent: 35 m
  • Washrooms: No
  • Highlights: Walking around two beautiful lakes and past a haunted castle

    PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WON'T BE A CARPOOL FOR THIS HIKE DUE TO CURRENT TOC COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS

    Approx address is: Just south of 14385 Jane Street Regional Road 55, King City - 43°57'24.3"N 79°33'43.8"W

    Please note that my event directions are from VAUGHAN METROPOLITAN CENTRE STATION.

    • Exiting Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station, travel south to hwy 7 and turn right (WEST) for 1 KM.
    • Take the on ramp to the 400 NORTH for 14 KM.
    • Exit @ King City Road RR 11 (exit # 43) and turn right (EAST) for about 1 KM.
    • Turn left (NORTH) at the first light, Jane Street RR 55 for about 4 KM.
    • There will be side road parking for the Oak Ridge Moraine Trail on the east side of Jane, just past the sign for pedestrian crossing and the blue sign that reads 'Pine Hill Farms.'
    • Its easy to miss, but if you get to Sideroad 16, then you've gone too far.
    • Also, do not pull into the driveway of 14384 York Regional Rd 55 as that is private property and just used as a geographical reference for the meet point.

    CLOSEST POTENTIAL WASHROOM
    There is an ON ROUTE service centre located on 400 northbound with a large washroom.
