SLOW HIKE: Cedarvale Park North Route (5 KM) (7/17/2021)

Directive From The TOC Executive

Interim COVID- 19 Rules for the Toronto Outdoor Club

  • You must meet the following four conditions to participate in any TOC events.
    Within the 14 days preceding the event:
    1. You have not travelled outside of Ontario;
    2. You don’t have any COVID-19, cold, or flu symptoms;
    3. You have not knowingly been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case;
    4. You have taken and passed the Ontario COVID-19 self- assessment on- line questionnaire.
  • You will bring a cloth mask/face covering, which you will wear during the event meet- up, plus any time during the event when the 2m social distancing is not possible.
  • You will comply with any other rules as detailed on the TOC Rules Amendments
  • You will comply with any additional rules set by the organizer of the event for which you have registered, which could be more strict than the ones detailed above.

NOTES

  • These rules are in effect immediately and until further notice.
  • YOU MUST CONFIRM IN THE "NOTES" SECTION DURING SIGN UP THAT YOU MEET ALL THE CONDITIONS LISTED IN THIS DIRECTIVE AND YOU WILL COMPLY WITH ALL THE INTERIM RULES.
    Your event coordinator has been instructed to remove your event registration without further notice if you do not take this step during your registration.
  • Your coordinator may also remove you from the event (even after it has started) if you fail to comply with the rules, and report you back to the TOC Executive.
  • If you cannot or do not wish to follow these temporary rules, please wait to sign up for any TOC events until the interim rules are lifted.

EVENT DETAILS

PLEASE NOTE: If you receive an email that reads "MOVED TO THE WAIT LIST," or don't see you name on the wait list, its because you haven't agreed to the INTERIM TOC COVID-19 Rules.

So, once a month I get a massage and I'm always tired for about 24 hours after.
However, I still like to get some fresh air and exercise, so this will be just be a short slower urban hike.

This 5 KM hike will start and finish at Eglinton West Station and will traverse through Cedarvale Park.

The majority of this hike will will be through neighborhoods, but also on a few dirt/gravel paths as well as some wide paved trails.

In terms of hills, there's a fairly steady climb from the halfway point, north to the end of the hike. Its subtle, but its a 20 meter climb.

Sorry, but there aren't any washrooms on this hike.

For those of you looking for a good mask to wear while hiking, you can find the one I use, 'here from Amazon'.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SUBWAY IS CLOSED BETWEEN LAWRENCE & ST CLAIR THIS WEEKEND

    Eglinton West Subway Station is on the Yonge- University & Spadina subway line, 4 stops north of St. George & 5 stops south of Downsview and is located at Eglinton West and Allan Road. Look for me at the entrance of the station.

    For those of you driving, Eglinton West Station is located at the end of the Allen Road at Eglinton Station. In terms of parking, there should be street parking available in the neighborhood north of the station.
