So this is my 7th time leading this great late summer/early fall hike. We might be a bit early, but Mono Cliffs is one of the nicest parks in Ontario for the changing colours.

This Mono Cliffs Provincial Park hike has varied flat sections and challenging hills that spread throughout the valley.

On this hike, we'll pass 2 lookout spots as well as a nice lake to take in the view.

Total Distance 14 kM. If you cannot walk the entire distance, please do not sign up for this hike.

Please note that there aren't any washrooms at the start of the hike, but will be two spots along the hike.


For those of you choosing to meet at the event location, instead of the carpool, please ensure that you come on time

Required Items to Bring:
  • water (1-2 L)
  • LUNCH/snacks
  • good hiking shoes
  • weather appropriate clothing
  • Passenger cash for carpool - range of $8-13

    Please note that there are no washrooms at the start of the hike, but there will be two along the trail. If you need to go, please use the Tim Hortons just off hwy 10 in Orangeville.

    Event Directions: Leaving Sheppard West - take the Allen Road south to the 401.

    -Travel west along Highway 401 to Highway 410 (15 KM).

    -Merge with Highway 410 and follow it North for approx. 65 km (NOTE: HWY 410 will eventually turn into HWY 10)

    - Once past Oranagville turn right at Mono 25th sideroad (its the road after 20th sideroad)

    -Drive 4 km along 25th Sideroad, until the intersection with 2nd Line EHS. Then find a place to park, please just ensure you don't park between the gate and the ladder as that is a no parking zone.

    - We'll meet by the gate on the south side of 25th Sideroad.

    Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $36.93 (calculated at total Km * $0.211, effective Friday, September 20, 2019). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.

    • I’ve set the maximum event count at 1 as I don’t want to add anyone to the event until I have enough carpool drivers to accommodate passengers. I would like to take around 16 people, but I'm willing to try to accommodate up to 20.
    • This hike will go ahead rain or shine. If it's raining, please wear appropriate rain gear.
