PROPER ICERS ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS HIKE. If your icers have the metal spirals (such as Yaktrax), throw them out. Proper icers for forest trails must have sharp metal points to dig into the ice. If you don't have proper icers, get some. You must have icers with you to attend this hike. Please do not show up for the hike without PROPER ICERS There are some very steep hills as well as slopes beside the lake. If the trails are icy, without ICERS you might slide into the lake or a tree and require a trip to the hospital! see the notes at the bottom of this page for icer type information Hopefully I have made my point! DISTANCE: 18 km PACE: 5 km/h DIFFICULTY: D4 MAX hikers: about 12 (+ or -) I set the Maximum Group Size to 4, because I can take 3 passengers, but this event can accommodate about 12 hikers if more drivers register or hikers meet at the event trail head. This hike will be along the Oak Ridges Trail, a
combo of "there and back" with a loop
around Bond Lake, over to the Swan Lake area, then
pass by Wilcox Lake on the way back.
We'll stop for a lunch break on the trail in the forest DRIVERS, WHEN YOU SIGN UP, PLEASE ANSWER THE CARPOOL QUESTION REGARDING THE # OF PASSENGERS YOU CAN TAKE IN YOUR CAR!!! Members on the waiting list who have a good
attendance history may get priority.
