Itinerary:
Let's head to High Park and get the weekend started with a short brisk walk. The aim will be to complete the 6km route in about an hour, so we will be moving quickly! If you ever wondered what 6km/h pace is like, but didn't want to sign up for a 12+km fast hike for fear of being left behind, here's your chance to see what it is like.

We will meet at Keele Station and follow this route:
- south along the eastern trails of the park
- west along the Queensway
- north along the western trails along Grenadier Pond to High Park Station

Please ensure you will be able to maintain a fast walking pace for about an hour over some uneven terrain. There will only be one brief break about halfway through the hike to wait for traffic signals. We won't be waiting for stragglers! Even though this is rated D3 don't take it lightly.

The first part of the hike will be through an area of the park where a lot of people let their dogs run free. There will be some wet and muddy spots in the last few km of the hike.

Did I mention we will be walking fast?

Route Rundown:
Distance: About 6km
Pace: About 6 km/h (FAST!)
Expected Time: About an hour
Trails: Mostly paved trails with some well established dirt trails
Terrain: A few rolling sections in the first half and a few hills in the second half

Please plan to arrive before the posted start time, we will be leaving immediately at 10:30am. I will turn my phone off once we begin, so any calls or messages will likely not be returned until the end of the hike. This hike will go forward rain or shine. A high risk of a thunderstorm (80%+) 24 hours prior may result in postponement or cancellation.

PLEASE NOTE: The University-Spadina Subway (also known as Line 1) will be closed between St. Clair West and Union Stations. If you need to traverse this section of the subway, please give yourself extra time or take an alternate route to get to the hike.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Keele Station is on the Bloor-Danforth Subway (also known as Line 2) on Keele St. just north of Bloor St W. There is a small commuter parking lot accessible via Indian Rd. on the east side of the station which is free on weekends. If you park in this lot, you will have to walk along Bloor St. to the west entrance on Keele St. to meet the group.

We will meet inside the Keele St entrance (NOT the Indian Grove exit) by the entry gates. Look for me with a black backpack and a Blue Jays cap.
