Itinerary:

With cooler temperatures arriving let's go for a hike by Etobicoke Creek.

We will meet at Long Branch GO station (see directions) and go to the lake where we will enjoy the view in Mary Curtis Park (half of which is in Toronto, and the other half -- in Mississauga, by the way).

We will then head out north along Etobicoke creek (~4km/h). Beyond QEW we will leave the paved trail and use a footpath to find the historical Sherway bridge.

We will then head back to Long Branch GO station and have lunch in one of the picnic areas along the trail.

Required Items to Bring:
  • Weather-appropriate clothing
  • Sturdy footwear
  • Water, 1-2 litres
  • Lunch
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
  • Wet weather jacket and pants
  • Snacks
  • Camera

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

Take 9:43am Lakeshore West GO train at Union Station and disembark at Long Branch station. If it is your first time using GO system, give yourself extra 15 min to buy the ticket (~$5.60) and find the correct platform. Check gotransit.com for fares and other details.

While 501 streetcar (westbound) also stops at Long Branch, it is usually very slow. Please check the TTC trip planner to see if that streetcar route would work for you.

For those taking a car, parking at Long Branch is free and is plentiful on Saturdays.
