Itinerary:
CARPOOL DEPARTURE NEGOTIABLE

I've had a request for a later departure. As long as one car leaves by 2:00, we can have others leaving later. If this appeals to you, please sign up and we can work things out.

I had this booked several months ago but then realized that it conflicted with the picnic so I didn't post it. Now that the picnic has been cancelled I'm posting this as a last minute trip. There won't be a pre-trip in person meeting. I may organize a call if there are concerns.

We will basically arrive at the put-in in the mid-afternoon and paddle about 1.5 hour to a site on Rain Lake. The next day we will do two portages into Jubilee Lake. From there we can do other portages into other lakes or laze around for the afternoon. The plan is to return on Sunday. If you are interested in extending to Monday, please let me know. Beginners are welcome, if we have enough experienced paddlers signed up. Just let me know your skill level in the notes when you sign up. We may be able to arrange 3 person canoes so that we can take children or non-paddlers.

Although I have said all ages, I would like to limit this to children no younger than 10. That wasn't an option on the drop down.

I will not book canoes for the group. I can try to pair people up for renting. You can book a canoe through Canoe Algonquin. The number is 1-844-535-0261. Bonnie, the wonderful woman that owns the place has solo, two person and 3 person canoes. They will deliver to the lake if it is booked by Wednesday. The charge is $50 for delivery for all canoes booked together.

If you are interested in communal meals, please let me know. If you are doing your own food, please be sure you bring rope and an appropriate bag for hanging it.

Officially we are allowed 3 tents, therefore we may need to share tents. Please specify which of the following you intend to bring tent (how many does it hold), stove, pots, water filtration, canoe. Can you stern? If you are a driver, are you willing to carry a canoe? Will you share a tent with a person of the opposite gender? Do you want to bring your own food or do communal food?

YOU MUST AGREE TO ALWAYS WEAR A LIFE JACKET WHILE IN THE CANOE AS PER TOC POLICY. PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DO SO.

Required Items to Bring:
Sun wear, rain gear, water bottle, food. Pack a lunch to eat on the way up.
About $200 to cover costs, depending upon whether food is communal and the number of canoes we need to rent.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Cost & Payment:
Member Cost:$200.00/Person
Cost Includes:Costs will depend upon the number of canoes, 3 person canoes, delivery or pick-up decisions, the number of people in the car pool vehicles, and the cost of the foods we choose. A light weight two person canoe is about $122 for 3 days or $61 a person. If you don't own a life jacket, that is another $6. Paddles are provided. My plan for this trip is that people book their own canoes. We have issues with people taking responsibility for the canoes when they have been booked by the trip leader.
Make a Payment:Although there is a cost for this event, you do not pay through the TOC. Please review the event details carefully for information about how/where to make your payment.

Voluntary Donation:What is this?)
Suggested donation amount for this event is: $2.00/Person.

Cancellation/Partial Attendance:
Please review our Cancellation Policy carefully!
*Note: All drop-outs after the voluntary withdrawal deadline will be considered AUTOMATIC NO-SHOWS due to the high number of people on TOC waiting lists. If you think you can't attend this event, please withdraw as early as possible to give someone else a chance to enjoy it, thanks!
