Have you wanted to try Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or are interested in self defense but didn't know where to start? I'm attending a class with a well known Brown Belt Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor and competitor. He is offering a class focusing on a few self defense techniques next friday and there are a few open spots. No special equipment is needed beyond shorts and a tshirt. Experience is not neccessary and it is open to all fitness levels beginner or experienced but you should be prepared and able to take a few bumps and bruises.

Required Items to Bring:
Shorts and tshirt or a jiu jitsu gi
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
water and a snack

How to Get There:
Event Directions:5km north of Kennedy Station
Carpool to Event Distance (round trip):10Km
Carpool Departure Time: 7:15 PM
Carpool Location:   Log in for location
Carpool Directions:   Log in for directions
Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $2.01 (calculated at total Km * $0.201, effective Wednesday, June 28, 2017). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.

This is not a fitness class, this is an introduction to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu focusing on self defense techniques. Jui Jitsu and self defense classes require that you have close physical contact with other participants. While participants are required to respect and observe safe practices at all times bumps and bruises must be anticipated. You be comfortable and prepared for these situations. I will contact everyone who signs up for the event to assess your personal needs and to arrange carpool and alternate directions to the venue. If you are interested in this event but cannot attend please email me and I will hold this event again at a later date.
