Evening Hike - Up the West Don (~12km) (7/8/2015)

Itinerary:

DISTANCE - 12km (give or take)

PACE - 4.5 to 5 km/h

DIFFICULTY - D3 (Mix of paved, gravel and mountain biking trails, with some inclined sections)

A moderate hike with (somewhat) scenic views of the Don Valley Golf Course and the Ross Lord Dam.

ROUTE:

  • Walk South-West from Sheppard-Yonge Station through the Lansing residential neighbourhood till the West Don River.
  • Hike North-West roughly along the West Don River through various parks to Ross Lord Park
  • Hike East on Finch Hydro Corridor Trail to Finch Station

  • Good footwear (Hiking Shoes/Boots recommended)
  • Weather appropriate clothing

    • How to Get There:
    Event Directions:Sheppard-Yonge TTC Station is located near the intersection of Yonge St and Sheppard Ave, and is 2 stops south of Finch Station (on the Yonge Subway Line) and 1 stop west of Bayview Station (on the Sheppard Subway Line).

    NOTE!!! If you're taking the subway, please follow the signs to the Bus Platforms and take the HARLANDALE AVENUE exit when you reach the station.

    If you are driving, Harlandale Ave is 1 block North of Sheppard, and is West of Yonge. There is paid parking on the streets and in a Green P lot on Harlandale Ave, across from the station exit.

    This hike will go forth rain or shine

    Please arrive on time, we will start the promptly at 7pm. I will be turning my phone silent once we begin the hike.
