Finch to G Ross Lord Loop 14.5k (12/26/2014)

Itinerary:

Forget about shopping, avoid the crowds, work off some of the feasts you may eat, get some fresh air!!

DISTANCE - 14.5km

PACE - about 4.5 km/h

DIFFICULTY - D3

Along mainly paved, fairly flat paths, with a couple of tiny hills.

We'll start and end at Finch Subway Station

This is the route we will take.

  • west along Finch Hydro Corridor
  • west to G. Ross Lord Park
  • loop the park
  • walk across the dam
  • retrace our steps back to Finch subway

Along the way we'll pass through G. Ross Lord Park which will provide us with some interesting scenery, including the dam and reservoir.

Don't get left behind! Please arrive early, we will start promptly, and I will turn off my cell once we begin hiking.

Required Items to Bring:
  • Good footwear - hiking or running shoes
  • Water 1 - 2 L
  • weather appropriate clothing

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Finch Subway Station is on the Yonge- University subway line. It is the terminal station at the very north end on the Yonge subway line.
We will meet at the passenger pick and drop off Kiss 'N Ride which is on the WEST side of Yonge St. NW corner of Yonge St + Hendon Ave
If you see a whole bunch of GO buses and TTC buses you are on the wrong side of Yonge St.

Look for me with a GOLDEN whistle on my backpack.

If you are driving, there is free TTC parking on weekends and statutory holidays.

Enter Finch West Parking Lot from the west side of Yonge Street, just north of Hendon Road; or from the north side of Hendon Road, just west of Yonge Street. Capacity is 1,552 spaces.
