Itinerary:

NOTE: Answering questions during the sign-up is mandatory!

Christmas in a Yurt! I have reserved a Yurt at Silent Lake Provincial Park for Christmas and Boxing Day nights.

There are 40km of groomed cross-country ski trails including heated warm-up huts, really no other facilities, and a whole lot of silence.

There are no on-site rentals available either, so it will be necessary to bring your own equipment or rent ahead. As well as skiing, there is the option of snowshoes, or bring a deck of cards and a few boardgames. The two bunk beds each include a single and double mattress, so matress-sharing may be necessary. Heating is by a wood burning stove.

Photos and details of the accomodation is shown here.

The park is described here.

We will share food.

Because we need enough drivers for the event and people comfortable with food- and, potentially, mattress-sharing, everybody starts at the wait list. We sort out details by e-mail then.

Please answer the following questions and put answers in the Notes section while you sign up:

  • 1. If you can drive, how many people and pairs of skis fit in your car?
  • 2. Do you have dietary restrictions? (e.g., vegetarian)
  • 3. Do you plan to ski or snowshoe alone or in a group?
  • 4. Is mattress-sharing possible? [men, women, anybody?]
