Almost a FAST HIKE: Lawrence to Loop Sunnybrook (12 km) (9/9/2014)

Itinerary:

This D4 hike will be 12 km along a mix of pavement, gravel, woodchip and dirt paths, mostly through the trees, with a few small hills.

The fine print

  • Have you wanted to come out on a FAST hike but weren't sure if you could keep up?
  • Well, this hike might be for you.
  • We'll cover 12 km maintaining a fairly quick pace of about 6.0 km/h.
  • Please, if you sign up for this hike, ensure that you can walk about 6.0 km/h for 12 km.
  • This is an ALMOST FAST HIKE for fairly strong hikers, but IT IS NOT A CASUAL STROLL.

We'll start and end at Lawrence Subway Station, maintaining a fairly quick pace of about 6.0 km/h

Please arrive on time, we will start promptly.

This is the route we will take.

  1. Start at Lawrence subway station
  2. (S.E. corner of Yonge St & Lawrence Ave)
  3. East through various parks to Sunnybrook Park
  4. Say hello to the horses and ponies
  5. Ascend to the upper playing field
  6. Loop through the forest of the upper p.f.
  7. Retrace our route west
  8. End at Lawrence subway station

  • Good footwear
  • Weather appropriate clothing

    Event Directions:

    We'll meet on the South-East corner of Yonge St and Lawrence Ave, near the 'Locke' branch of the Toronto Public Library across the street from the Lawrence Subway Station Entrance.

    Lawrence Subway Station is located on the Yonge Subway Line, two stops south of Sheppard and 6 Stations north of Bloor.

    Look for me with an ORANGE whistle on my backpack.
