Just Out of Town Hike - Markham (14 km) (5/11/2014)

Itinerary:

This hike is "out of the city" because we technically leave the City of Toronto. We'll be trying for a moderate pace (4.5 km).

Route

  • Meet at Leslie Station, head north through East Don Parkland
  • Head north along Leslie into German Mills Settler's Park, into Markham!!!
  • East along John St.
  • South through Bercy Park back to Leslie & Steeles
  • South along the Duncan Creek Trail
  • Cut through a neighbourhood
  • South through Wilesden Park
  • End at the Historic Zion Schoolhouse, near Leslie & Finch

Total distance (estimate): 14 km

  • Good Footwear (hiking boots, trail runners, etc.)

    Event Directions:

    We'll be meeting at the South-West corner of Sheppard Leslie, just outside Leslie Subway Station. Leslie station is located on the Sheppard Subway Line.

    If arriving via Subway, please exit the station following the signs marked "TO LESLIE STREET"

    This hike will go on rain or shine

    I will turn off my mobile phone once we start the hike. Also, I do not check my email the morning of the hike
