Itinerary:
Since I ran the first TOC Chocolate hike in November of 2009, 3 of the shops have closed down, and one moved out of the area. (Although, in reality, 9 chocolate shops in one day was a bit much, even for the most die-hard fans of us out there!)

Fellow Torontonians! It's time to do our duty to keep these shops alive! Let's get out there and buy chocolate! Let's support our local and independent chocolatiers! And let’s TREAT ourselves just in time for Hallowe’en! At this time of year there’s bound to be extra special chocolate goodies waiting for us to discover.

Our urban hike will begin at the Yonge / Eglinton subway station, and end at Union. We'll zigzag along the way to stop at 6 very different and unique chocolate shops. Two of them are new to me as we’ll be taking a slightly different route than my previous chocolate store tours. To whet your appetite, just imagine savouring these flavours: root beer, lavender caramel, pink champagne, green tea!

Here's the "important stuff" to know before you sign up:

  • The hike is approx. 15 km total
  • Average pace is 5.0 km / hour
  • Truffles are anywhere from $1.80 to $3.00 per each
  • Start: Yonge/Eglinton
  • End: Union
  • If there's interest, we may stop for a drink on the way back to Union
  • We will hike, rain or shine.
