Itinerary:

The terrain is variable, hilly with rocky sections. Distance is 22 km. We'll keep to an invigorating pace of 4.5-5km an hour.

This hike is suitable for strong intermediate or advanced hikers.Hikers coming on this event are expected to have recent D5 level experience. If you don't have a history with the TOC, please include some comments in the notes about your hiking experience.

We will meet at the Devil's Glen Provincial Park, start off with a gradual climb up the escarpment past the Devil's Glen Ski area and into the Nottawasaga Bluffs Conservation Area, take the Keyhole Side Trail passing through small crevices and narrow openings in the rock, visit the bluffs, and take the Mad River Side Trail along the Mad River back to our starting point.

Those willing to drive and regular D5 hikers will be given preference on the waiting list

Note: If you come on a winter hike, you should always have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC.
