Itinerary:
This is a redo of the Feb 25 come back tour. We had a great hike that day in Feb, before spring even started, and of course, for many, the long September weekend marks the "end of summer". But let's not miss our "last chance" to get out and go for a nice long hike and enjoy some treats at the end. (As I write this, it is *pouring* outside LOL) Well, that's OK, if it's a cold day, this place also serves up hot "pizza cones"! In fact, they've got a nice little menu of salads and other Italian fare. It's quite vegetarian friendly, too! If you're not really hungry there's also hot beverages, or wine and beer!

  • Start location: Victoria Park Subway station (free parking on weekends)
  • End location: Gelato store on Bayview, just south of Eglinton.
  • Hike distance: 12 km, plus if you walk back to the subway, another 2km (or walk up to Eglinton and get a bus, or walk back to Vic Park Stn with me (providing I'm up for it!))
  • Average target speed: 5 km / hour

p.s. This is called "Toronto's Best Gelato" because last summer I had tried to hike all 9 of the "best" that I found in a blog, but once I found this place, I didn't bother with the rest!!
