BRISK WALK: Crothers Woods (14 KM, 5.5 km/h) (7/18/2012)

Itinerary:

The terrain is challenging, hilly in sections, on narrow paths shared with mountain bikers. Total distance is about 14 kilometers. We will hike at 5.5 km per hour.

Those coming on this event should be prepared with hiking shoes/boots. Especially on days after rain, the trails can be very muddy.

We'll start from St Clair Subway Station and follow this route

  1. Depart from St. Clair Subway Station
  2. Follow the Vale of Avoca ravine south
  3. Past the Brickworks
  4. Along the tracks to Pottery Road Bridge
  5. North through Crothers Woods and the lower Don Valley Mountain Biking Trail
  6. South through the Upper Don Valley Mountain Biking Trail
  7. Return by the Brick Works
  8. Follow Moore Ravine north
  9. Exit at Heath St to connect back to the ravine.
  10. Finish back at St Clair Station.

This event is restricted to those who have already participated in a "BRISK walk" or have otherwise demonstrated that they are quick and strong D4 level hikers

  • Water 1-2 L and snacks
  • Weather appropriate clothing

St. Clair Subway Station is located at Yonge and St Clair Ave. East. We'll meet at the entrance onto St Clair.
