Finch Station_ Don_The Spit_Union Station (30 to 50 km) (3/25/2012)

Itinerary:

This ride travels mostly on separated bike trails. However, some sections will be on roadways with vehicular traffic. Please only sign up for this ride if you experienced, comfortable, and safe riding in traffic.
Our ride will start outside at Finch subway at the corner of Finch and Bishop Ave. We will then head east to the Don and down the Don River trail system to the Lake. We will then stop for lunch – you can either bring your lunch or pick up some take out at T+T Chinese supermarket. We will then decide who wants to head for the Leslie Spit and then back to Union Station, and who wants to skip the Spit and ride directly to Union. If we include the Spit, the ride is about 50 Km and without it its about 30km.
If you have not ridden with me before, you MUST answer in the affirmative the following questions in the notes sections of the sign up page (for you own ease simply copy and paste the questions into the Notes section and type in your answers when you sign up):
1. Do you agree to wear a bicycle helmet?
2. Are you experienced, comfortable, and safe riding in traffic i.e. with automobiles?
3. Are you able to bring a spare tube for your bicycle?
4. Does your bicycle fit you properly?
5. Is your bicycle in decent shape ie no rusty chain etc, working brakes?

Meet at Finch Ave and Bishop Ave.
Note: our ride will not end at Finch. If you drive to the event, you and your bike will need to take the subway from Union back to Finch.
