Itinerary:

We were short of drivers for this hike, so I've moved the date forward to Family Day.

The terrain is hilly and challenging. Length of hike is 21 km, pace 4.5-5 km/h. The exact distance and pace will be determined by trail conditions, there are lots of opportunities to vary the distance. Map 20

This hike is suitable for advanced or strong intermediate hikers. It is not suitable for beginners. Hikers coming on this event are expected to have preferably D5 or minimally D4 level hiking experience and must be able to maintain a continuous pace of 4.5-5 km/h on challenging terrain. If it isn't obvious from your TOC record that you can do this hike, please, when registering, include some comments in the notes to convince me that you can keep up.

We'll meet at the parking lot on Prince of Wales Rd, just south of the southern end of the Prince of Wales Side Trail. We will be following the Prince of Wales Side Trail, the Primrose Loop Side Trail, the Main Trail, and the Boyne Valley Side Trail. We'll pass through steep ravines, hardwood forests, and open meadows.

After the hike, we'll go for refreshments in Primrose.

Note: Icers are mandatory on this hike. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC or Lee Valley Tools.

Those who are willing to drive will have priority on the wait list.
