Itinerary:

SUNRISE HIKE - RIVERDALE TO THE BEACHES

WOOT! Only four days to spring! Let's welcome the equinox, the Easter bunny AND St Patrick with an early morning waterfront hike. What the heck, if it's a beautiful morning maybe we'll even do a few impromptu sun salutations on the beach. We'll meet at Broadview Station at 7am sharp + walk down to the lake front along the Don Valley trail and then east along Martin Goodman trail to the Beaches and up to Victoria Park station. Sunrise will be just before 7:30 am so if it is a clear morning we will get some picturesque views of the lake.

The trail will be muddy and wet in places so bring icers and wear proper footwear (no running shoes). We will walk at a decent pace of 4.5-5.0 km per hour so be prepared to stick with the group. (No racing ahead as I won't be chasing after anyone who gets lost). Dogs are welcome. There may be opportunities to stop for photos but this is not a photo hike. If you fall behind please put your camera away.

ICERS: If you want to come on a winter hike with me, you must bring a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding on the ice. You can purchase decent icers at MEC or Canadian Tire.

No Shows: If you can't make it please remove yourself from the event by the cutoff time. Anyone cancelling after that may receive a No Show.

WAITING LIST: If you are a new member I will try to get you on an event. Otherwise, to help make the waiting list fair to everyone I will give priority to people who regularly show up when they sign up. People who have trouble getting out to events they sign up for and have dropped out a day or so beforehand (for whatever reason) may be moved to the waiting list for any other of my events they are on.
