Itinerary:

Did you resolve to get outside more and get more exercise in 2012? Here's a light winter hike with cool stuff to see along the way to get you started.

Limehouse Conservation Area includes a series of historic lime kilns, and also bills itself as "the geological heart" of the Niagara Escarpment.

It contains an area known as the “Hole in the Wall” "where ladders cut through fissures in the escarpment rock".

We'll be taking the Bruce Trail and side trails south from Limehouse to Third Line, and can continue a little further if trail conditions are good and the group is interested.

I've organized trips before for other clubs, but this will be my first for the TOC, and I'm looking forward to it.

Conditions on the Bruce Trail vary - it can be rocky and uneven in places. At this time of year, it may be icy or snowy - we'll adjust our pace and route accordingly, but please also take that into account when you're planning what footwear to wear.

Total distance is about 9 km, with a slower pace based on the trail conditions.

This event will be coordinated and run by Emily Chung, please send all questions and concerns to Emily.
