Crothers Woods (13 KM) (8/21/2011)

Itinerary:

We will be exploring some of the obscure trails in the Don Valley trail system, mainly in Crothers Woods.

This hike is a D3 based on length, however the terrain can be challenging or considered D4 in several locations. Those coming on this event should be prepared with hiking shoes/boots.

Meet at Castle Frank Subway Station, outside the station entrance.

We will follow this path:

  1. Depart Castle Frank Subway Station
  2. North through Rosedale Neighborhood
  3. North through Craigleigh Gardens and past the Brickworks
  4. North through Crothers Woods and the lower Don Valley Mountain Biking Trail
  5. South through the Upper Don Valley Mountain Biking Trail
  6. South along Rosedale Neighborhood and south on Glen Rd
  7. End at Sherbourne Subway Station

The hike is about 13 km overall and we will aim to hike at 4.0km-5.0km/h.

NOTE: This hike is decently challenging with a several hills on this event.

  • Good footwear - "Hiking Boots Preferred"
  • Water 1-2 L and snacks
  • Weather appropriate clothing

Event Directions:Castle Frank Subway Station is located on the Bloor Subway line, 2 stops east of Yonge/Bloor Station.
