Itinerary:

Keep your local waters clean and healthy by taking part in the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup. Erik has agreed to coordinate a group as part of this initiative.

We'll meet at Don Mills Subway Station by Fairview Mall. We'll head up to Apple Creek in Markham (Woodbine just North of Hwy 7).

The idea is to pick up garbage or otherwise unnatural material we find in the park and around the shoreline. This creek is part of the Rouge river system and flows into Lake Ontario. We'll be doing our part to keep our fresh water reserves healthy.

After the cleanup we can hike around the park or otherwise enjoy this little part of nature near the city.

After you sign up for this event I'll send you an invite to join our team on the official website (which is why the cut-off is so far in advance of the event). NOTE: This is a TOC only team. While this is a national initiative, our team is going to be for TOC members only, and we'll be the only group working in this particular park.

Erik will be supplying garbage bags & gloves for everyone. We'll work in groups on either side of the creek.

All participating members will be required to meet at the carpool location. We'll convoy up together in vehicles to the park. (It's only a 10-12 minute drive from the carpool location)

Notes:
Definition of "Event Squatters": Members who sign up for events to hold a spot just in case they have nothing else going on and feel like attending but more often than not cancel/don't show up. By holding a spot from the moment an event is posted they block other people genuinely interested in participating from getting on the event due to limited space (maximum participants).
- We encourage all members to follow our Etiquette Guidelines at all times while participating in TOC events.
- Details of this event are subject to undergo a change at any point in time, with or without warning.
