Itinerary:
We will meet at Rouge Hill Go Station (outside the ticket office) at 11:00 AM and start our ride at 11:15 AM.

You can get there by taking the Go train at Union Station (hourly service departing every hour at 8:10, 9:10, 10:10, etc, and the train ride takes about 45 minutes), or by TTC bus 85A (departing from Don Mills Subway Station and destination being Rouge Hill Go station, and the bus ride is roughly one hour). See below direction if you plan to get there by car.

Starting from Rouge Hill Go Station, we will cycle west to Whitby and end the ride at Port Whitby Park close to the Whitby Go Station where everyone can catch the GO train back to Tornoto (hourly service departing at 44 mins past every hour).

We will pass through some conservation areas and bike most of the time along Lake Ontario. NOTE however in the final stretch we'll be riding on a busy road with loose gravel for about 5.3 KM. So we will be taking extreme caution during this section of the ride.

We will work to ride at a 15 KM per hour pace on mostly flat trails/roads. We can stop for lunch either at any one of the parks or conservation areas we will be passing or when we reach our destination. So the ride should take about 3 - 4 hours.

As we will be following medium-traffic streets for part of the ride, you MUST have experience cycling alongside automobile traffic if you intend on participating in this event. I would also ask you to wear bright clothing or a fluorescent vest for this event, so that you will be easily visible to car drivers.

All participants in this event MUST have a bike helmet and ride with caution on city streets and obey all traffic lights and rules of the road. Each bike rider is responsible for his/her own safety, and must not ride in such a way as to endanger another cyclist.

Required Items to Bring:
Well-maintained bike and a mandatory bike helmet (those without helmets will not be part of this ride), lunch, snacks, fluids and cash for GO transit.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
