Itinerary:

We will leave Toronto on Thursday morning and will head to Kukagami Lodge, on the shore of beautiful Kukagami Lake north-east of Sudbury!

We have booked the lodge's three cabins for the weekend so we will have the lodge to ourselves. Kukagami Lodge is quite rustic - there is no electricity, the cabins are heated by woodstove and lighted by kerosene lamps, and the facilities include an outhouse (it's a NICE one!!) and a sauna we can enjoy!

Summer at Kukagami Lodge is paradise. Forget about the hassles of everyday living. Activities include canoeing (and lessons), kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, guided nature walks, swimming, windsurfing, sailing, games, sauna and, of course, doing nothing.

The weekend also includes Viki's fantastic home cooking, three meals a day (we'll get there for dinner on Thursday and leave after lunch on Sunday). It's truly a welcoming place in a wonderful setting!

This is what Kukagami Lodge has to offer: "We provide three wonderful meals daily, along with fresh fruit and snacks available all day. We bake our own breads, and make most everything from scratch. We grow many of the summer vegetables in our organic garden and supplement most meals with a variety of delicious edible wild plants. We are located within the Kukagami Lake Forest Reserve, which protects our lake from development. You can spend the day paddling the quiet shoreline, walking the trails in search of wildlife, or simply sitting back with a good book. You also get unlimited use of our canoes, kayaks, sailboat, sailboard, (and lessons for these), hiking trails, mountain bikes, sauna, and swimming…and guided nature walks".

We will be staying for 3 nights, and will return to Toronto on Sunday afternoon, after lunch.

For most people, doing this trip will require you to use up vacation days. Make sure you have made appropriate arrangements with your employer BEFORE you sign up on the trip.
