Itinerary:

You should be able to keep a fast and steady pace of 5km/hour for this hike. Approximately 10-14km. The hike itself will take only 2.5 hours or so (5km/hr, stopping briefly to look at a few interesting things) and ends near Queen St. and Woodbine Ave. where there are buses and streetcars to take you home.

We'll meet at the SE corner of King and Yonge Sts, near the King subway exit (may still be an outdoor discount clothing stand there) at 10am. We'll then walk down south of Lakeshore and pick up the Martin Goodman Trail east to the beaches. We'll see large ships docked or floating, interesting industrial areas and several (looks like all one but...) beaches along the way, ending in "The Beaches" neighbourhood. At the end, if there's interest, we can go to the Lion on the Beach for some refreshment and warming up.

This will be right next to the lake, so bundle up in layers according to the weather forecast, as it's usually colder down there and can be quite windy. Be prepared for a chill and a good, brisk hike to help keep us warm! Where possible, we will walk along the beach itself. Good, solid walking shoes are a must!

Unless the "best french fries french fry truck" is still open this time of year, there won't be any opportunity for buying food or drink along the 10km, so bring snacks and water with you, just in case.
