Itinerary:

Are you ready for something new? The Friends of Seaton Hiking Trail are getting organized and decided to performed some much need trail maintenance and trail clean up on a section of the trail. Some of the trail has eroded and is actual in West Duffins Creek. These sections will be re-routed. There are 3 sections of about 100 meters each that have been scoped out for the work. Other activities will require clearing the trail of hazards and general clean up of any trash found. The town of Pickering will provide garbage bags. The Durham Mountain Bike Club will provide trail building tools and instruction on the best practices to building a trail (re-routes). High school kids are welcome to help and will be credited towards their community service hours. Let me know if you are bring your kids.

Here is your opportunity to learn something about proper trail building techniques and give back to the trails we all take for granted.
