The Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) hosts one of the largest collections of lilac species in the world. Lilacs bloom in late May-early June, and the RBG holds a Lilac Festival at this time with entertainment, refreshments, and information on lilacs.

We'll visit the Lilac Dell, take in the entertainment and eat lunch, and then do a bit of mild hiking around the RBG. The grounds are extensive and include wetlands, a rock garden, rose garden (won't be in bloom at this time) and indoor pavilion. We can either drive to other areas or take the RBG's shuttle buses.

Note: dogs are welcome, however they must be on-leash at all times and are not permitted in the indoor pavilion.
