Itinerary:
We will meet at the Finch Subway Station Kiss & Ride, which, you should note, is at the corner of Yonge & Hendon (not Yonge and Finch). From there we will cycle in a northerly direction to Kettleby before turning around and returning to the Finch Subway Station.

On this ride, we will be following mostly low-traffic streets through residential areas and medium-traffic roads through rural areas north of the city.

This ride will be at a pace of about 20 km per hour. Those who sign up must have experience cycling alongside automobiles on shared streets and roads. If you do not have such experience, you should not sign up for this ride.

Note: All participants in this event must ride with caution on city streets and obey all traffic lights and rules of the road.

This is a fairly long one-day ride for early in the season, and it is most suitable for those who have already been riding their bikes several times, and who have completed at least three or four 50 km single-day rides. We will have several huge hills to climb, so you will get a good workout.

Be sure to bring a lunch along, as well as fluids, as we will be riding through residential and rural areas where they may not be a convenient place to stop for something to eat.

Required Items to Bring:
Well-maintained bike and bike helmet (mandatory); bike lock; one spare tire tube and air pump (in case of a flat tire); suitable clothing for riding in cooler temperatures--layers are good as you can always add or remove a layer; bike gloves, in these temperatures, are still a necessity.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Strongly recommended: Front and rear bike lights and a fluorescent vest, so that you will be visible while riding in traffic.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Finch Subway Station, at the NW corner of Yonge & Hendon (not at the corner of Yonge and Finch!). There is free parking in the TTC lot, if you are coming by car.
