Itinerary:
We will cycle in a southerly direction from the Bloor/St. George subway station (from the St. George St. exit, not the Bedford Rd. exit) to the Toronto Waterfront. From there we will head west along the waterfront trail to Royal York Road. We will head north briefly on Royal York Road, turn west on Murrie St., and turn north on The East Mall Road, which will take us all the way up to Eglinton St. Upon reaching Eglinton Street, we will go East for a while and eventually find our way going south on The Kingsway, which we will take us through some lovely residential areas to Old Mill Road. We will head south on Runnymede and ultimately re-connect to the waterfront trail, which we will then take in an easterly direction all the way to the Beach, where we might stop for a rest. From the beach, we will head north on the Don Valley Pathway and then, after an uphill via the Rosedale Valley Road, return to Bloor and St. George.

At some point along the way, we will stop for lunch, so be sure to bring some lunch for the ride.

On this ride, we will be following mostly bike lanes, bike paths and low-traffic streets through quiet residential areas.

This ride will be at a pace of about 20 km per hour. Those who sign up must have experience cycling alongside automobiles on shared streets. If you do not have such experience, you should not sign up for this ride.

Note: All participants in this event must ride with caution on city streets and obey all traffic lights and rules of the road.

Required Items to Bring:
Well-maintained bike and bike helmet (mandatory); bike lock; one spare tire tube and air pump (in case of a flat tire); suitable clothing for riding in cooler temperatures (it will be chilly along the waterfront)--layers are good as you can always add or remove a layer; bike gloves, in these temperatures, are still a necessity.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.
Strongly recommended: Front and rear bike lights and a fluorescent vest, so that you will be visible while riding in traffic.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:St. George Subway Station, where the main subway lines intersect.

Notes:
If you are coming to this event by car, then you can park for 5-6 bucks for the afternoon in the parking lot on the south side of the apartment building at 276 St. George St., north of Bernard Ave. and south of Dupont St.
