Itinerary:

We will start our hike with a visit to Standing Rock & Caves Side Trail, which was written up in the May 2009 issue of Explorer magazine. Are you ready for "Canyon Land" and slippery crevices between dolostone blocks? We'll have to check it out!

We will then follow the main Bruce trail north to Pretty River Valley Provincial Park. In the park we will be following the Bruce trail and various side trails to complete an approx. 27 km loop. We will pass the highest point on the Bruce trail (540m above sea level)and pass through Petum Conservation area and Osler Bluff.

The hike has sections that may be technically challenging, but we'll try and keep it moving at a steady confortable pace of around 4-5km an hour. There are some areas of rough footing, so good footwear is a must. I expect the trail to be muddy from the spring run off. If we are lucky and have good weather, we should have really good views .

This event is for intermediate to experienced hikers.

Don't forget your camera.

Please eat breakfast before the carpool.

Lunch and snacks will be on the trail

We plan to find a resturant/pub in Stayner, for supper, on the way home. (Main Street Station Pub & Eatery)
