Itinerary:
Every year, women and men pause on Dec. 6 to reflect on violence against women in our society and remember 14 young women killed in 1989 at Montreal’s l’École Polytechnique just because they were female. In response to that event, in 1991, the Government of Canada officially designated Dec. 6 as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. This year, TOC members will participate in events to mark the day and reinforce that violence against women must not be tolerated.

We'll be meeting at the McDonalds (192A BLOOR ST.W.) just West of Avenue Road. Look for me at a table on the top floor with a TOC sign.

At the vigil site we will be assisting the organizers with a variety of setup tasks. The actual vigil starts at 6PM in Philosophers Walk.

You need not stay for the vigil if your schedule won't allow for it. Even just coming out to help with preparations will be greatly appreciated.

It can get cold, although we have indoor as well as outdoor set up activities, we will need people outside for the vigil time 6-7 (including clean up).

Vigil consists of a native healing ceremony, speakers and performers and ends with the laying of roses. Everyone is welcome. Ceremony proceeds regardless of the weather. For more information visit www.womenwontforget.org
