Itinerary:
I happen to be on vacation during the first week of August, so I thought, for a change, I would set up a ride in the middle of the week, on a Tuesday.

From our starting point in Peterborough, we will do a loop ride passing through Donwood, Five Corners, Warsaw, Galesburg, and Lakefield, before ending up back in Peterborough. Apparently, the ride from Lakefield to Peterborough is one of the prettiest in the province, so we have to check it out. For those of you who are fans of Canadian literature, the author Margaret Laurence did much of her writing in Lakefield.

If there is some time leftover after riding, we may stop briefly at the Canadian Canoe Museum in Peterborough.

We will be riding along at a fair clip (averaging about 20 km per hour). You should be able to keep up with this speed if you register for the event. This is NOT a ride for slowpokes, and definitely not a ride for those who are inexperienced or uncomfortable with on-road riding.

INFORMATION REQUIRED: When you sign up for this event, please indicate, in the Notes Section, whether you are able to drive and, if so, how many people and bikes (in total, including you and your bike), your vehicle can carry. If I know this information from the moment you register, it is much easier for me to organize the carpool via e-mail. So PLEASE provide this information WHEN YOU SIGN UP.

Required Items to Bring:
A well-maintained bike (hybrid or touring bike is better than mountain bike); bike helmut (mandatory); at least one spare tire tube; basic bicycle repair kit; at least 2 litres of water; sun-block; lunch/snacks; rain gear (depending upon weather forecast); money for lunch and carpool costs.
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

Notes:
PLEASE SEE THE NOTES REGARDING TRANSPORTATION IN THE ITINERARY SECTION ABOVE.

Whether 6 people can actually participate in the event is contingent on whether there are enough cars going that can take both participants and their bicycles.
