Itinerary:

Celebrate Canada day the way it should be - deep in the Canadian wilderness! 4 days of canoeing and camping in Killarney Provincial Park, North of Algonquin, deep in the Canadian Shield. You might even see a Moose or two!

Leaving Saturday morning, the plan is to spend 2 nights on Bell Lake, 1 night on David Lake and 1 night on Clearsilver Lake. It could also include a climb to Silver Peak.

Details: there will be approximately 1 km combined portaging into and out of park. The cost will be approx $140 to $160 per person, which will include the full outfitting (canoe, life preservers, cost of park pass) and food. You will need to attend a pre-trip meeting to ensure your spot. The pre-trip meeting will be held on Wed. June 18th at 7:30 pm at Chalkers' Pub (247 Marlee Ave, near Glencairn subway). At that time people must give a $40 deposit to ensure your spot, and the remainder will be paid at the end of the trip. As far as your canoeing ability - preferably you'll have canoed and portaged before. You must be at a level of fitness to paddle for a few hours. At the very least you should be a strong swimmer and very comfortable in boats and being on water in all types of weather. Killarney is about a 4.5 hour drive away. We would be back in Toronto for the evening of Wed. June 2. For most people, doing this trip will require you to use up vacation days. Make sure you have made appropriate arrangements with your employer BEFORE you sign up on the trip.

Note: Any questions about the trip should be addressed to Lisa
