Because of many very last-minute cancellations, there were just a few of us at the event, but we were still very excited and enthusiastic! Two people had never been to the Toronto Island before, so the skate around the island park was also a bit of a discovery tour. We skated from one end of the island to the other, and then back again, with lots of commentary and reading information about the island.

The multi-use pathways were relatively empty; just a few people walking, and a few others on bicycles. It was great to have quiet and smooth paths to skate along without bumping into too many people.

A few highlights of the event: skating through Centreville (even though the rides were closed), watching the evening lights shift on the city, and of course, the relaxing ferry ride!

It was a very nice way to unwind in the evening and get some good exercise after a long work day.
