Tue, Aug 5 2008 - Kawartha Mid-Week Cycling Adventure: Peterborough, Lakefield and the Otonabee River: Cycle 65 km in a Day! (View Original Event Details)

Event Coordinator(s): Jim O
Participants:Jim O, David B, JennP

Write Up:
David B, Jenn P, and I had a great ride out in the Peterborough area. About 2/3 of the route is on paved roads or streets, and some of the roads have a lot of traffic. The margins on the busy roads are narrower than one would like. But the final 1/3 of the ride, after stopping for some lunch and/or ice cream in Lakefield, is on an old rail-trail leading back into Peterborough. Recommendation: This ride is certainly worth doing, but those participating should be experienced with on-road riding, and all riders should wear fluorescent vests if possible.
