I WENT TO AN URBAN HIKE AND A FRISBEE GAME BROKE OUT...isn't that always the way...?

Chaos and Mayhem and Strife - oh my! Apparently there was a shut down of the TTC just at the time we were all supposed to meet at the subway station and several people had called my home phone to say they were stuck at a subway station and probably wouldn't make it. Fortunately, most people had walked because the weather was gorgeous and almost everyone was either early or just a little late. We waited until 6:30 for those who might be late, before heading out. In the confusion of such a large gathering, I made a man sign a waiver, who thought we were his French language group. I asked if he was a TOC member and he nodded. Good enough for me! I couldn't find him right away on my vast list of folks, but once I saw his name in print, I realised... he wasn't TOC at all. Well, I have a waiver for him anyway, should he decide to join.

As it turned out, there were more than enough on this hike anyway. Some might say TOO many (and I'm likely to agree!) but I wanted everyone to have a chance to come along on this beautiful evening. I think I've been to weddings though, with fewer people than this!

It was such a large group that people broke into smaller groups and hiked at their own speed. I can only speak about the group at the front, which had an interesting and varied conversation going on. Everyone behind seemed quite chatty as well though and were enjoying the stroll. Nobody noticed my signal to discreetly point out the house of a famous Canadian author (which is a secret!) because they were busy talking in the back - which is even better.

And soon it was time for frisbee. Anthony and Johnathon were secure enough in their manhood, to each hold and walk with one of my two purses while I played a little frisbee, initiated by International-Darrel and Three-Dog-Nick (Woody the dog is now referred to as the new O-Dog - which sadly stands for 0 for 3 hotdogs!). We used an open ringed frisbee so that no damage could be done to anything or anyone.

We casually walked about the grounds of Upper Canada College and all the mansions of Forest Hill and stopped briefly at a fair that was held at the Forest Hill Public School. When we got to Forest Hill Village, however, there was only one teeny-tiny outdoor patio and it was not going to accomodate all of us unless we took turns in fours, or something, so we decided to head back down to Dupont and visit The Pour House. Woody got a little off-leash time in the ravine on the way back. Luckily, it was .50 cent wing night and eleven of us had some food and drink there before making our individual ways home. We decided against "patio frisbee" but it was nice none-the-less.

It was a good group and a good frisbee ga-- I mean hike!!! Thanks to all for coming out
