I am looking for people who are interested in signing up a weekend whitewater canoeing or kayaking course with Madawaska Kanu Centre. They MKC offers good discount for group of 5-9 for 15%, and group of 10+ for 20% off. If we cannot have more than 5 people as a group, we can just sign up individually and pay original price.

I joined a 5-day whitewater canoeing and a weekend river rescuing training with Madawaska Kanu Centre (MKC) before, and I really enjoyed the time being there. Their certified instructors are super friendly and professional. Their campgrounds, dorms and dining lounge are very nice. If you are interested in their meal plan instead of cooking yourself, their chefs are great! There is also a Sauna that you can enjoy after the training.

I mostly do canoeing and I don’t do kayaking much, and therefore, I am thinking about taking their kayak weekend training. But you can register any course you want from tandem canoeing, solo canoeing or kayaking.

If you never do flat water canoeing or sea kayaking before, it is not recommended that you jump into white water directly without prior flatwater experience. They assume that you are familiar with the strokes to maneuver a canoe/kayak in flatwater. If you are a very experienced white water canoeists or kayakers, they do not offer advanced weekend course. They only offer beginner class and occasionally offer intermediate class on weekend. You have to join the week long (5-day) course to take advanced course.

To get their group discount, we have to pay all together. The $100 deposit for each participant has to be paid by the organizer. The remaining part of the balance can be paid by individuals.

We do not have to sign up the same course to get the good discount. You can choose any class you want. You can also choose to camp or stay in a cozy nice dorm. You can choose to cook yourself or join their meal plan.

Once there are more than 5 people signed up, I will collect the $100 deposit from you, and I will pay upfront. Please note that the deposit is nonrefundable. MKC will not refund your deposit.

For the remaining balance, you can call MKC and paid the full amount. Once everyone signs up, I will send out an email to organize this event that everyone can go together! Please check your email in a regular basis.

Information about the price:

Please check the following link to check the date and price. It is $320 per person for camping and instruction + $90 rental. If you would like to join their meal plan, the price will be $460 (camping+meal+instruction). We plan to register for the weekend of July 29 and 30. We will get group price if we have a larger group.
