Write Up:
This was the first event that I have hosted on Saturday morning, rather then the usual Saturday afternoon. I think the experiment worked well; the gym wasn’t that busy as first and we got to eat at a decent time after a hard day of climbing and defying gravity.

Those who attended were on time and organized as usual and the lesson went off pretty much on time. I was particularly exited because my baby sister Gaby was finally trying out rock climbing. I got to see a lot of familiar faces, like Pierre, Rafal, Lorenzo and Lisa. Everyone else I was meeting for the first time. I should also mention that Lisa, and Pia who couldn’t make it, have been climbing pretty steady about once per week since the previous event in January.

Dan is bran new member. He’d actually climbed before, but Joe Rockheads made him take the lesson, but he had a great attitude about it, got a chance to review and went on to climb like a pro. Michelle and Ala paired together most of the time after the lesson. They left the training wall for the regular climbs pretty quickly and were very persistent on one of the 5.7’s.

There was a kid’s birthday party going on in the training area, and the kiddies were very loud. It made it interesting being on the ground trying to communicate with the climbers going up, but we managed.

So, this was a great event for me, as they all are. The next one is already up for those of you who may be interested.
