It was a bitterly cold morning as we all met at Kennedy Station Park and Ride and headed out towards the Metro Toronto Zoo and the trail head to our hike through the Rouge Valley. We wandered throught the rolling hills and forest, moving quickly to stay warm, with our ultimate goal being our turn around point of McDonalds. We headed in and supplemented our lunches with some warm tea and coffee, and warmed up and chatted for 45 minutes. When we were asked to leave because of a birthday party arriving shortly, we knew it was time to make our way back into the cold and head back home. On the way back, the sun came out and began to warm us, as we continued along the winding trail. After arriving back at the cars, we said our goodbyes and headed home, happy to have enjoyed a sunny, yet chilly, December day.
