It was yet another beautiful afternoon for some ultimate frisbee action. The skies were clear and the sun was smiling down on us. We had a great group of enthusiastic players yet again with varied skill sets. The teams were adjusted when needed thus keeping the games very close for the most part.

3 canines were in attendance as spectators and they provided spirited encouragement from the ‘dog pound’. Woody offered up her belly to anyone that cared to rub it. Ravil didn’t want belly rubs but he showed the resiliency of his bladder by downing a whole 2 litre bottle of Mountain Dew. Other players more wisely settled for just plain water.

Speaking of water, the semi-permanent minipond was still at the East end of the playing field despite many days of no rain. It made for good times as players heading in to score on that side would have to keep a wary eye on it to avoid a soggy misstep.

Darrel, perhaps to make amends for destroying Ben’s frisbee at a previous game, surprised us with a nice professional grade 175gram disc from MEC. We soon learned to respect its extra weight as it quickly showed its dominance over mere fingers. I brought some nice mini cones from CDN Tire that I may end up using in my Halloween costume this year.

All in all it was a smoothly run event. Both Rosaline and I had fun co-leading this TOC outing and we look forward to more ultimate frisbee in the future.
