Write Up:
Yoga in the Park, September 4, 2007 It was a cool Tuesday afternoon on the first day of school and in the midst of the clouds, the weather forecast predicted that it was going to rain, which made me consider cancelling the event. Luckily however the forecast was wrong and the event turned out to be excellent. I am glad I decided to wait it out and see what might happen since the weather forecast is wrong more often than not.

Nancy, our Yoga instructor came down with bronchitis, which seemed a more imminent threat to the event than the weather. However, luckily for us even though she was sick, it didn’t stop Nancy from finding another Yoga instructor, Sara, to continue with our program.

I arrived at the Glencarin subway station and I saw a woman with a Yoga mat waiting. She introduced herself as Sara who was replacing Nancy that day. Nancy talked a little bit about her background as Cindy and Jamie rolled in for their first TOC event. Soon after the rest of the gang started to trickle in at our agreed meeting place. The sky did not give way to rain. We walked to Viewmount Park, where we were greeted with people playing. We finally found a perfect flat spot under a tree where we could start our program. Sara was nice enough to ask some of us which area of the body that we were interested in focusing. As we closed our eyes, we could feel the breeze from the light wind, the rustling of the leaves. The noise from kids playing hockey made it hard at times to hear what the instructor was saying. Other than that we had a pretty good workout.
