Write Up:
It was a beautiful day to be out and about in the city, and it seemed that everyone was taking advantage of this! The Scotiabank Waterfront Marathon, as well as the Toronto Reads festival created a traffic nightmare for those moving about in the downtown core, in addition to the CIBC Run for the Cure event. After meeting up early to get out t-shirts, we browsed around Nathan Phillips Square, checking out the various other fundraising evfforts put onby sponsoring companies before the start of the race. 10AM arrived, and we were off! Up University and over to St. George, across Bloor to Bay st and then down to Elm where we cut back over to University Ave to the finish line. No better weather could have been requested for this slightly over 5km run. After regrouping at our meeting spot, we headed down to Gabbys on King Street for some well deserved lunch. Congratulations to the TOC team for raising over 1,400$ to support research for finding a cure to brest cancer! well done!!!
