The sun came up with ease on this day. It was warm and the humidity could be felt. I felt nervous and excited as I had won a beautiful Smiley face Frisbee that was going to make the day that much more special. I arrived at the subway entrance and the participants started showing up. We started strolling to the park full of enthusiasm and new ideas brewing due to Nicolas telling us about he events he and Ania have done in Toronto with other groups. We finally had made it to the field I usually play on and decided we needed to warm up before we started play. That is when my heart sank. My smiley face Disc was terrible and only a handful of people could use properly. However, Shelley pulled out her own Disc which was so much better to save the day. we decided to use the good Disc for this event. We received some instructions from Shelley and Darrel who did a good job of answering all the questions. I divided everyone into two teams and we started play. Somehow we had uneven teams and I made a few changes that made a bit of a difference. Everyone seemed to have a good time and we continued to do so after we lost Shelley and Sav who had an engagement later that day. We continued play with my beautiful Smiley Face Disc until Darrel's head broke it. Since the crack was a bit of a risk, we had Darrel beg for a Tennis ball from some players on the courts next to us. With that in hand we kept practiced catching a ball. Some of use felt we would have difficulty with that. After a short warm up we kept playing Ultimate Ball. When all of us had enough fun, most of us headed to the Old Nick for some food and drinks as well as some fun topics of discussion.
