Participants:Katherine, Kara, Danielle, Zee, Tim, Kate E, Lauren, Lilliane, Shannon, Doug C

Write Up:

The group met at High Park subway station. Some of us had brought rain gear, since there was a 40% chance (Environment Canada) or 20% chance (Weather Network) of rain. These preparations turned out to be unnecessary because the weather was very nice, the sun shining on our backs, with a breeze coming off the lake.

We headed south to High Park, staying to its west side, walking down to Grenadier Pond. We saw ducks in the water and chipmunks along the trail.

We left the park and passed under the QEW and across Lakeshore Boulevard, to get us to the Martin Goodman trail. After a short pit stop at Sunnyside Pavilion, we continued along the boardwalk, where we saw numerous dragon boat teams and rowers. Lauren and Shannon left the group to eat their dinner along the waterfront. The rest of the group continued on, where we saw the preparations at Ontario Place for the Chinese Lantern Festivals. Soon afterwards, Tim left us to go home. We continued by the Music Garden, then to the H2T beech, which some of us had not seen yet. Once we reached Harbourfront, Kara, Carol, Kate, Lilliane, and Doug went for drinks at Pier 4 restaurant, while Danielle and Katherine went home.

We all agreed that this was a nice way to spend an evening after work and that we should do other events of this sort.
