Sun, Aug 10 2014 - Hockley Valley Provincial Reserve (14km) (View Original Event Details)

What a great day for a hike! We started the hike at Hockley Valley at around 11:15am, and kept a steady pace of about 4km/h for most of the hike. We did a mix of the main Bruce Trail and loops around 3 Bruce Side Trails, to cover about 14.8km. We traversed a good variety of terrain, ranging from challenging ups and downs to open meadows and boardwalks over little creeks.
With such great weather (sunny & 25 degrees), it was no surprise that we saw many other hikers on the trail. Some memorable ones included a father carrying his child in a carrier backpack (and maintaining an impressive speed of 4km/h!) and a man we ran into 3 times at various points!
Thanks everyone for making my first coordinated hike very memorable, and for calming my initial nerves. A special thanks to Fletcher as well for sponsoring me for this hike!
$8 was collected in donations.
