There were eleven people on today's hike. The weather was around the freezing mark and chilly when the wind blew. It's important to dress in layers and to have something like "wind pants" to break the wind. As we hiked in the ravine the sun came out and it warmed us up.

Both the beltline trail and the Moore Park Ravine trail were dry and not icy. Conditions can change quickly and it's nice to have a solid footing.

We stopped for a bathroom break at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery Visitation Centre. This is a new building that was completed in 2009.

We explored the Marsh at the Brickworks. There was a solid layer of ice over the entire pond. We saw a muskrat run across the ice. Another muskrat was seen under the ice.

We spent about 30 minutes at the Brickworks. The Farmers' Market is inside for the winter. As we were leaving, we discovered a second building, so it's much larger than originally thought. Participants asked for an ENCORE, longer visit, which is planned for next Saturday, Dec. 14th.

Some people took the shuttle bus to Broadview Station, some stayed longer at the Market, and the remainder hiked to Castle Frank Station.

$14.00 was collected in voluntary donations. Thank you.
