A lovely winter morning - sunshine, no wind, temperature just below freezing - contributed to our enjoyment of a relatively short (13km) hike in the Humber Valley. There's not much wildlife about at this time of year, although we did hear a couple of chickadees, saw what might have been coyote tracks, Galina has posted a lovely photo of an owl that was perched not far from the trail, and we met up with a family of wolves! (check the photo album :-) We ended the hike on a very pleasant note at the McMichael Gallery's temporary tea-stand (yes, they too are undergoing renovations of some sort - seems to be a permanent state of affairs around the GTA these days), with warm drinks and a light lunch, and admired the high-tech totem pole in the main foyer :-) Good weather and great company - a lovely way to spend a few hours on a Sunday!
