Write Up:
Okay, after the class, one of the OIP regulars (and TOC'ers) said it was a difficult beginners class. I have played with the song and the steps we learned and I think he's (they're) right. The tempo (Usher's Got Us Falling) is(almost)too fast for the series of steps we learned and therefore, I think, it could be considered VERY advanced. He was a last minute substitue afterall and did seem unsure of his teachings and what we should be learning though. I enjoyed it anyway and I think everyone did well for first timers too. I've only taken close to a dozen jazz classes and now 1 hip hop class but I'd have to say I think that jazz is way more difficult/complicated than hip hop and far more physically demanding certainly - hence the 5 minute stretch warm up for hip hop (and the air conditioned studio) as opposed to 1/2 hour or more for jazz (and no air conditioning allowed!) It was a good, fun start to hip hop though.
