Contrary to early weather reports, we ended up with a lovely morning to start our walk. First stop was the Cloud Garden park which is one of my favourite hidden jewels in downtown. From there it was on to City Hall. The green podium is accessible but only during normal business hours so we opted to come back later in the walk.

A stroll through downtown had us finding temporarily relocated cows. We also noticed how G20 preparations meant garbage cans/bins were replaced with bags taped to poles, yuck!

At the Roundhouse we were lucky to meet the general contractor on the renovations. He filled in many details regarding the project and its many challenges. We also had a sneak peak at a mechanical track computer dating back many years.

From there we proceeded to the new automated toilet. A few TOCers dropped $0.25 each and checked it out. The 'Star Trek' type door is really nifty. After each use the whole thing takes about 3 minutes to clean itself in preparation for the next user.

We saw one of the new waterfront Wave Decks, the Pawsway, and talked about new bike lanes coming to Queens Quay.

Finally we got back to City Hall by way of Osgoode Hall. After some help from security we were able to access the green podium. It truly is lovely up there and many folks plan to return. It would make a great place to relax, enjoy a bite, and take in the lovely scenery that surrounds the building.
